A recreation of the vaults in the Grade 1 listed Queen Anne building at Edinburgh Castle as they would have been in 1789 when used to house prisoners of war.

The story of the prisoners is told through sound and light effects. The visitor experiences the day-to-day life of the prisoners as they walk through the vaults. There are snatches of conversation and shadows of the prisoners going about their daily lives. The prisoners’ quarters have been faithfully recreated and dressed with many authentic props including food, clothing, bedding and items the prisoners made to sell to the
local population. (work undertaken for JJA)
